The Inaugural Conference of The International Conference on Human Trafficking Research (ICHTR) was held in the Harper Center on the campus of Creighton University from May 28th-30th.
The mission of ICHTR is to establish an academic conference to serve as a forum for outstanding cross-disciplinary research in human trafficking, with the long-term goal that the conference will lay the basis for the emergence of a professional association dedicated to the study of human trafficking.
Sally Richardson was asked to participate in the Survivors Observations on Human Trafficking Research round table.
Here are her thoughts on this experience:
It was not only my pleasure but my honor to sit on such a distinguished panel of survivors for Survivors Observations on Human Trafficking at ICHTR. I had the chance and expertise in helping to change the face of human trafficking research.
Being able to bring my personal experience to an audience of scholars and experts from around the world left me speechless, and getting the chance to help bring a voice to survivors on a global level was surreal to say the least.
Thank you, Creighton University, for raising survivor voices in HT Research.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Sally if you’d like her to sit on an upcoming panel or speak on this topic at an upcoming event.
